My husband was tracking an 8 pt buck he shot this past Nov. It was dark out and we live in a swampy area. He was in cattails tracking and an animal charged him that sounded like a hog. He called me on the phone out of breath and said whatever it was chased him up on to an old picnic table that had washed down the creek from a nearby park. I WAS SO EXCITED at the thought that there was a hog in the area, while my poor husband was on the verge of a heart attack. Then he called me back and told me it was a rabid raccoon that kept circling the picnic table trying to eat him. He made a run for it, and made it out safe. Happy for him, but so extremely upset it wasn't a hog. We're heading to our camp in Russell, PA(in Alleghany Forest) with hopes of at least seeing some kind of signs. Will keep you all posted.
