new to forum

Hi, I'm new to this forum, but not to hog hunting. I was doing a search on feral hogs, and I found you guys. I have been hunting hogs in Texas for the past 10 years. I hunt the traditional way, "Monteria" style. That is, with dogs and a knife. I will be contacting the DEC to find out if dogs can be used. I already know the answer, but you never know. I feel that this is the most enjoyable way to hunt hogs. You get to watch the dogs work, and it's up close and personal. I have pics to share, but I have no knowledge on how to post them. If somebody gives me their email address, I'll send them to you. Enough for now, please keep us posted on the hog situation. It will be good hunting in the late spring/early summer when the corn is growing.

how big is my "knife"

I use a U.S. Camillus, Marine Corp combat knife. Made on the same contract as the original K-Bar. How do you post pics on this forum? I got some good news today. I have an 80 lb. female that is hunting in Texas. She was used as a rescue dog, to rescue two pits from a training pen. My friends have a well dogged, really nasty boar that's about 220lbs. with 2.5 to 3 inch teeth. I have always been afraid to put her on that pig, because he's really nasty. Well, the two pits got cut up and one ran away, so she was let loose. She hit the boar so hard that she took him off his feet and he was caught in two seconds flat. I'm very glad she didn't get hurt, and that she made me proud. Big smile

I got onto my other computer to post some hunting pics. I'm just learning this forum so it might not work out well.

My last try

Here goes, try # 5. This is a 10 year old girl that hunts with her dad. She's quite a dog woman, and a good kid too. Here she is looking over the 135lb. sow that she just dispatched.

New to this forum

Hello everyone,I also was looking for info on hunting wild hogs, and found this forum.I just went after the hogs in Cortland County for the first time a few days ago.I'm from Broome County,NY. I hunt most of our local large/small game. This hog hunt was excellent, although I didn't see any. After reading through this thread I was pumped. I didn't care if I was charged by a large boar I just wanted to lay my eyes on one of those beasts(and shoot too!!!) I cant wait to go agian. I'm new to hog hunting but hog wild sounds right up my alley(in the off season)!!! Thumbs up

I've heard the local farmers are taking a bunch of them at night. Coming and going from their corn fields. Also the State is baiting and trapping a bunch of them and destroying them. You would thing the anti's would be all over the State for it. Think
