Wild Boars / Pigs in New York State

Jim
Yeah I know one of them anyways a good guy was just at my house for a New Years Party. Waiting for ice myself here. Today and tomorrow may lock some areas up good???

Slick
Nongame, no season, no limit. All you need is a valid NY hunting licence. DEC would rather they do not spread. Though I think it is a little to late for that?

I hear ya slick, anyone that doesnt live in NYC calls where they live "upstate" or "northern" NY. Not that I could blame any one of them for it.

For me (just my opinion) there is:
-The City
-Southern NY
-Central NY
-Northern NY
-and just maybe Western NY?
Not going to put landmarks too them and offend anyone though Thumbs up

The pigs right now are in the area around the South end of the Eastern most Finger lakes (ie, Otisco and Skaneateles). Right now I do not know anyone that has gone pig crazy (but I am sure there are a few?). Most are taken during the deer season. None of the land owners like them so I am not sure how baiting will be tolerated (they might think that it would attract more swine?)

that's a good four hour drive for me but sure, why not, after all it's "free meat" LOL.

boundaries are simple, from long lake north to rt 458 over to childwold, and east to redford is the adirondacks, the rest to the north is 'new york state',

everything else is "jersey".

albany, lake george, old forge or new jersey, what's the difference?

Hear that the pig hunting has been a little crowded? Who would have thought?

Was out on Sodus on Sat all day. Stayed away from the crowd and came home with a nice bunch of perch. Yesterday morning was on Otisco and iced 4 tiger musky. Beautiful day. Proub be the last ice for a while, unless you go north?

Slick any ice on Hinkly?

Bear, sorry buddy I don't know where that is.

there's 10 to 12" of ice around me, right now it is raining, was warm as can be, suppossed to rain tomorrow too, there's all of 2 to 3 feet of snow on the ground
