WHY NOT A .308?

A .308 IN A LIGHT, HANDY RIFLE IS HARD TO BEAT.

Its a great caliber and very

Its a great caliber and very versatile.  But with all the speed talk it gets left behind.  I am not big on speed I like knock down power, so I choose a .338WM.  If I ever come acorss a good deal on a .308 i would not hesitate to buy one.

A .308 is a fine caliber of a rifle along with the .270 Whinchester and the good old .30-06.  I would never feel under gunned with any of them except for the .270 Whinchester and you had a mean bear on your hands.  But it would do the job if needed be.  I also hope that none of those 3 calibers ever disappear but only time will tell.
