I have the 870 Magnum Express and find it is a very good shotgun for lots of purposes. I shoot trap, quail, pheasant, turkey, and deer and it works great on all of them. I also like the 870 over the 11-87 just because I like the pump action. Good price on them also. Don't think you can go wrong with this gun
The 870 will give you more latitude as far as loads that can be used without adjustments. Bbl. changes are much faster.
If I were you I would buy the gun with the 28" bbl. with vent- riband screw in chokes. Then send Cabela's some cash and buy a Hastings rifled bbl. They are better than the Remington rifled bbls. My groups got much smaller as has almost everyone elses when they changed to the Hastings.
I already have a full shoke tube on my shotty so why would I need a choke tube and my 1100 shoots just fine for me when Im small game hunting I dont use a 12 guage for anything but small game hunting and it does just fine but thanks for the input dan if I ever decide to hunt big game with it I'll take you up on that.
