WHO'S VOTING HUSSIEN BARRACK OBAMA

CHANGES IN THE WORKPLACE

As of November 5, 2008, when President Obama officially becomes president-elect, our company will instill a few new policies which are in keeping with his new, inspiring issues of change and fairness:

1. All salespeople will be pooling their sales and bonuses into a common pool that will be divided equally between all of you. This will serve to give those of you who are under-achieving a "fair shake".

2. All low level workers will be pooling their wages, including overtime, into a common pool, dividing it equally amongst you. This will help those who are "too busy for overtime" to reap the rewards from those who have more spare time and can work extra hours.

3. All top management will now be referred to as "the government." We will not participate in this "pooling" experience because the law doesn't apply to us.

4. The "government" will give eloquent speeches to all employees every week, encouraging its workers to continue to work hard "for the good of all".

5. The employees will be thrilled with these new policies because it's "good to spread the wealth around". Those of you who have underachieved will finally get an opportunity; those of you who have worked hard and had success will feel more "patriotic".

6. The last few people who were hired should clean out their desks. Don't feel bad, though, because President Obama will give you free healthcare, free handouts, free oil for heating your home, free food stamps, and he'll let you stay in your home for as long as you want even if you can't pay your mortgage. If you appeal directly to our democratic congress, you might even get a free flat screen TV and a coupon for free haircuts (shouldn't all Americans be entitled to nice looking hair?)!!!

If for any reason you are not happy with the new policies, you may want to rethink your vote on November 4th.

Where's the part about eating his own children and emtying the cities, driving the people into the countryside like so many cattle, and resetting the calendar to begin at year 1 again.

I said Orwell, not Pol Pot. Although Pol Pot was a charismatic leftist that believed in wealth redistribution, too.

Hokieman, I'm not supporting Obama, but this thread might be... hmmm... just a tad over the top.

Over the top? We'll see. Do I think he'll commit genocide? No. Do I see uncomfortable warning signs? Yes.

The issue here is the methods he's using to gain and maintain power. The political spectacle, religous fervor, etc, bear all the trappings of a personality cult -- especially when coupled with a whole lot of people who are demonstrating complete devotion to him, no matter what the issue or the evidence. I'm talking about people who have given themselves completely to the man, to include their ability to think independently. Concern about he leader is only half of the question; I also worry about the followers.

There's also the way his people deal with dissent. They absolutely come unhinged if someone criticizes him, and their response to such criticism is to go on the attack and make it their mission to crush and silence the critical thinker. In their world, if you think differently, you're a danger that must be eradicated -- a purveyor of "hate speech."

There's more, but the bottom line is this kind of stuff has been seen before, and by some pretty unsavory people. But they're already laying the groundwork to crank up the hysteria and play the victim if someone DARES to point out similarities to tactics used by past despots (or current ones like Hugo Chavez).

People complain about the Patriot Act, but The Obama isn't even in office yet and we're hearing:

1) Assault on 1st Amendment rights by calls for reinstatement of the "fairness doctrine" which would basically shut down talk radio (and what about the Inernet?)

2) Assault on 1st Amendment rights by stated intent to impose the "Freedom of Choice Act" which would direct all hospitals (even Catholic ones) to offer abortions or lose federal support. Abortion isn't a huge issue with me, but the idea of a government telling a church-run hospital to do something against its doctrine is.

3) Assault on worker's rights by eliminating the right to decide unionization by secret ballot via the "Employee Free Choice Act."

4) Assault on 2nd Amendment rights via gun show restrictions, assault weapons bans, and mandatory chlild safety provisions.

It's ironic to see liberty attacked by legislation that uses the words "free choice." Heaven help us if we as a nation allow political dissent to be silenced, or if we become so enamored of a personality that we hand over our constitutional freedoms.

I know you hate democracy but it's a method of choosing a govt not a party.

personality cult

That's what you call it when half the country decides whackadoodle and a nutcase with mucklucks isn't a good fit to run the country.

We're all ok, just take care of yourself. Don't be getting over excited now.

hate speech

That's what we call it when people whip crowds into murderous frenzy based on race, political affiliation or other. The Secret Service has had to work overtime just keeping track of all the easily led weirdos.

Hugo Chavez
