Just going to try for a doe this year in WY. Never been out there before so I figure this might be the best way to ease into it. Bought PP's last year for antelope and mule deer and will do the same this year, so hopefully in a few years I'll be sitting good. Maybe try a few doe hunts in the mean time to get my feet wet! Looking forward to my first trip this fall!

scaupmaster, you will be hooked liked the rest of us, good luck on the draw...

NMBlackGold,
Thank you for the information. I appreciate you taking the time to help me understand NM's pronghorn draw. I have been wanting to hunt NM antelope for a few years now.

Jeff

Hellomcfly, I saw your buck pic in "Let see some 08 Goats" thread, I think I would stick with that spot until the well went dry....good luck!

That's what I'm afraid of. Oh well, a nice vacation each fall out west might be exactly what I need! Thumbs up

Thanks Blackgold I love to hunt those speedy critters too. Their eyesite just amazes me & i think they're fun to watch during the rut. Goodluck to you as well!

I'll put in for a buck tag first choice to pull a preference point and put in for a doe second choice which I think shouldn't be a problem pulling. Too much fun to miss. Does anybody know if it's easier to draw tag if you are applying for a private land only tag in Co. or if it doesn't make a difference? I know most units you need two or three points to pull a buck tag.

In most, if not all units a PLO is much easier to get. Some units that take 8-9 points for a regular tag only takes 1 or 2 to draw a PLO tag.

Cool, I have the ability to to put in for PLO so, as I've burnt my points in 08, I'll get a doe tag this year and a buck tag again next. I'll put buck as my first choice PLO in April and who knows maybe I'll get it, but if not a point for next.

Thanks Hiker!
