Season's been open for almost

Season's been open for almost 2 weeks here in California, but I have yet to make it out.  It's looking good though.  Birds are talking good, and lots of guys getting them.

Might try to head out this weekend if I get a chance.  Good luck to you!

i've been out a few times.

i've been out a few times. took my buddies son out to my spot and he killed a nice tom with 10" beard, and i missed a good tom two days ago with my recurve. i'm going to say that my fletchings snagged on the "shoot through" mesh of my blind but, a miss is a miss and the bird still lives.

going out tomorrow with the neighbor's boy and a shotgun.

it's more fun getting the kids to kill them than doing it myself anymore.

I will be headed to Nebraska

I will be headed to Nebraska sometime in the next couple weeks for one or two weekend trips.  I might even try using my bow, but that will be a game-time decision.  I have thought about giving CO turkey hunting a try, but I will probably call it good with NE.

I'm leaving thursday for

I'm leaving thursday for north Texas. I have no clue really what I'm doing and I've never killed one before but there's supposed to be a bunch of them there right now so I guess I'll learn as I go.:D Won't be the first time. Didn't see any in November when I was there deer hunting but he said it all changes in the spring. Hopefull will see some hogs as well to fill in the time.

Went out the first day , saw the biggest gobbler of my life on the way out. Went out the 3rd day and forgot my decoys, took me 1.5 hrs to get him in . 22.5 lbs little better than 1.25 in spurs , 9.5 in beard  , it was fun..

Nic3e Bird!  Congrats!

I hope to get out one of these last couple of weekends here.  Shotgun ends this weekend, then there are 2 more weeks of archery only.  Probably gonna have to go that route for them.....
