Whitetail or Mule Deer

A question for you deer hunters out there. Do you prefer to hunt whitetail or mule deer where both species of deer reside within your hunting area? Or do you travel out of your area or state to hunt a specific species?

My favorite deer is by far

My favorite deer is by far the Blacktail just because they are the most challenging deer to hunt, My second choice is mule deer. in a distant 3rd is whitetail.

I would like to try and hunt

I would like to try and hunt blacktail one of these years in Oregon. In Idaho I have always chased mule deer and now gonna give the whitetail a run for their money

Its an OTC tag, kinda crowded

Its an OTC tag, kinda crowded unless you hike way in. Its a blast and they are very hard to find. most are nocturnal, and they live in the deepest darkest nastiest places in the mountains.

Are they mostly located on

Are they mostly located on the coastal side or are they in the eastern part of the state as well? Man I really hate those deep dark nasty places in the mountains but they sure seem to hold a lot of game and for good reason

Goose, I'm with you, so far

Goose,

I'm with you, so far to date mulies have been my favorite. However seeing all the big whitetails taken back east sure makes me think about what kind of fun they might be as well.
