whitetail bullet type

Have question about bullet type for whitetails, I have taken with .270 and others, but got me a new 300 Win Mag. haven't hunted deer with a 308 type magnum. any good type of bullets for whitetails, guys around here say the 300 with ballistic tips messes up alot of meat and to go with stronger bullets to get a good entrance and exit. Any thoughts or comments would be great.

Tere are just so many choices out there. I use 150 gr Nosler boattails for my 270 reloads and I love them.
Any bullet out there is going to make a hell of a mess if you start hitting shoulders etc
I've seen 100 grainers out of a 243 that you'de swear was hit with a cruise missle.
Shot placement is the answer, choice of bullet, not really, in my opinion

I would go with a 180 or 200 gr. partition , bearclaw, accubond, corelokt. The ballistic tips do expand a bit more than you need but will do the job as well.

That's why I love my 243....the most underestimated caliber out there in my opinion.

I really don't believe that Federal,Remington or Wichester make a "bad cartridge" I really like Federal though: Take a look at my favourite ballistic chart, yes it'sFederal:

Just pick you bullet and click ballistics on left. If you hunt in windy condition pay attention to the winddrift data.
You got lots of choices, the 180 is one hell of a great bullet for just about anything.
