Which red dot for my leveraction?

I am thinking of putting a red dot sight on my marlin 1895 45-70. This rifle will be used for camp defense from bears and two legged vermin alike and will more likely be used for elk, deer, and black bear hunting in the timber. I am hoping to be able to hunt with it out to 150 yards. Maybe 200 with lots of practice. I have been looking at the burris fastfire 2 and the bushnell trophy 1x25 that is an aimpoint micro clone. I have used the bushnell on the same platform and it worked well at 100 yards. my idead behind the fastfire is more FOV less weight and the ability to possibly use my ghost ring sights through the lense should something happen to the red dot. Let me know what you guys think and i am more than open to any other suggestions you might have.

I don't have any experience

I don't have any experience with a dedicated red dot for shooting that far. but since you want to shoot out to 200 yards I have had good luck with the Millett dms-1. If the dot dies it is still there in black and being a 1x4 variable it has a little more flexibility.

Hope this helps some.

My main concern is compact

My main concern is compact and lightweight. If i am going to a full on scope i will just do a scout scope or a traditional style lightweight scope. Thanks for the response though
