I know all that....I'm just making the rationale for obtaining a new gun.
And, I really do need a one gun fits all deal. Even though deep down I can (and have) killed both deer & elk with the 270WSM. I'm just sick of how the shadow looks...never was much on synthetics anyway...always have been a traditionalist.....prolly why I shoot an old 1971 belgian superposed browning and wesr my dad's old 1950's pendleton shirts he left me. It's also why a gun has to look a certain way to me....and that means WOOD!!!

Which is also why I now have my eyes on an old SAKO Finnbear, or maybe a Mannlicher-schoenauer model 1950 in 30-06. And maybe even an old pre-64 winchester model 70....yes indeed, those are how gun's should look. Like they came right out of a Norman Rockwell illustration.

Pre-64 model 70 is a great gun. I had the Classic Super Grade for a while, very comfortable gun to handle and shoot. I eventually sold it, it just didn't do anything my other rifle of the same caliber does just as well.

Well, its now narrowed down to 3 rifles:

1. CZ 30-06 or 308 600.00
2. Pre-64 win mod 70 270 or 30-06 -700.00
3. mannlicher schoenauer 30-06 model 1950 pristine for 998.00
