I attach mine to my bino

I attach mine to my bino harness, and then put a pouch on my belt or pack belt...that way is is handy but also not going to get in my way.

"where to put Rangefinder?"

When I bring mine, I just put it in my pack. Usually I pre-measure distances when taking a stand, be it in a tree or on the ground, by picking out trees, rocks, etc. out different distances and making mental notes. Even if stalking, I might take a measurement here and there as I pause/wait a bit, but don't use it much if moving, going on dead-reconing I guess.  To be honest, I've never ranged a live animal before a shot...

I loop the rope threw the top

I loop the rope threw the top ring on my backpack strap and then put it in the right hand outside pocket of my pack so I can grab it quickly.

The best idea if you are in a tree stand or a ground blind is to range trees, bushes or rocks before you need to.  That way you are not playing around with trying to figure out the range.  Now spot and stalk is a different matter.  You'll need a place that you can get to quick and easy if you should need it.

If I walking about it is

If I walking about it is usually in my backpack as there is not a need to have it. I will attach it to my pack if I'm hiking in an area where I would need to glass or range. I like them because they double duty as binos when I'm looking and glassing canyons.

In my left pocket! Just don't leave it at home or in the truck or on the rock where you last sat.
