Where to find a bear in SW OR?

Hey all,
I am very new to this forum and have been hunting in OR for 12 years. Up until the last couple years I have never seen a bear. My problem is I only see them when I am not hunting. Any ideas on a good place to look? I have been going out almost every day and have only been seeing a TON of elk Thumbs up , a few deer Think , and 4 BIG KITTYS in the last few days. Ideally I would like to find a knowledgable hunting buddy to trade my elk and cat whereabouts for a good bear. I have been hitting the Signal Tree area of the Tioga unit very hard and that is all I have seen.

Where to find a bear in SW OR?

I've never hunted bear down there but i've heard between Roseburg and the coast hold a lot of bears. i was talking to a guy from down there and he said you cant go 100 yards without seeing bear sign or a bear. not sure exactly where he was but thats all the info i have for you, hope it helps.

I've never hunted bears in Oregon but if I were to go, I keep a close eye on berry patches this time of year.

Where to find a bear in SW OR?

go to winston, head west toward the coast. drive to powers and ask the locals were to find bear. or go to elkton and ask same. or go to canyonville, and ask same.

bear are common in all the areas outside of sutherlin too.

also try going to the back of the callahans and where the warehouser gate is, just walk in and start calling using a varmit call. then be ready, as them bears are coming to eat a easy meal.

Go out 42 past signal tree to upper rock creek. stay on main rd take 2nd left. saw 4 bear during archery season another good area ive seen lots of bear (and missed one this year) steamboat.
