Mule deer/elk is more doable in most western states. Why whitetail as you have them and some good ones in Michigan?
LOL Stillhunter, I waited my whole life to get my first whitetail buck because of where I live. For me mulies were a dime a dozen and I couldn't sleep I wanted a whitetail so bad. I have 2 now and can't wait to go after more. I won't give up mule deer of course but now I want both every year.

Others have offered up a sighting of roughly 2 inches high at 100 yards as a good sighting scheme. In my own experience I have come to favor a sighting of 3.5 inches high at 100 yards. This allows for the individual to hold dead-on (directly in the middle of the top and bottom) the animal out to roughly 350 yards.
