When / how to use decoy

I am hunting along a bean field and see many deer each night, I would love to have a way to draw them to the edge I can hunt. Would a decoy work in this situation? OR are decoys primarily to be used during the rut?

I never used a decoy so i am not sure. my opinion is that seeing the decoy would make the deer more comfortable stepping out in to the open. i wouldent say that it would draw them out though unless one is curious. give it a shot. i dont see how it could hurt. would be great in the rut with some scents though.

Use calls such as buck grunts and doe bleats
