What's your favorite handgun?

Mine is pretty simple, a three inch round butt model 65 Smith and Wesson .357. Because I like stainless handguns, K-frames, 357's, and in my eye, the 65 is the perfect all-round handgun.

I love to talk about how much I like my Glock 21. I know a lot of people don't care for Glocks and I respect that. However, the love of my "handgun life" is my Glock 21 and I just can't help myself. It's very accurate and it's never failed me - not a single time has it misfired. I guess the only drawback I've found with it is that I can't carry it concealed very well when I'm wearing shorts and a tank top on a hot summer day. I think my wife even gets a little jealous of the way I look at it and touch it..... cool

Colt 1911A1 The very best! Please deliver us from those imported plastic popguns.! A stupid answer to a problem that never existed.

IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T TRY TO FIX IT!!!!!!!

Yup I too have a Colt 1991A1 that's of recent manufacture (2002 or 2003). An excellent gun. A difference between night and day compared to Colt 1911 and model O guns coming out of Hartford in the late 1970's, 1980's and early 90's. Too bad Colt became too complacent over the last 30 years and opened up a new market for other companies to come into and offer better 1911's. Colt is now waking up to the fact, but what they are doing now may be too little too late. Still, what's coming out of Hartford today is very limited in volume, but of excellent quality. Maybe one day Colt will again be the leader in the 1911 market.

Remington Sportsman,

You have my deepest sympathy. Why would anyone in their right mind trade good old American steel for European plastic?

All I can hope for you is that they are switching to .357 Sig or staying with 45 ACP and not the anemic 9mm which will get you killed.

God Bless.

The anemic 9mm the 9mm is a fine weapon, if you are talking anemic because the military uses fmj ammo then yes but with the quality hollow points we have these days i have no fear defending the life of my self and my clients with it. as for the plastic guns i wont ever use a glock... but as far as polymere framed pistols i do own a few springfield XD's, but i love my 1911's and carry them all the time. Thumbs up

Kel Tec P11

I have a nice little polymer handled KelTec P-11. Laugh if you want but it's light, never jams and is fun to shoot. Cost effective, too. A lot of people poo poo them as throw away guns or Saturday Night Specials but I like it. It's hard to beat for the price. Full power 9MM that fits in your pocket fires every time I pull the trigger. You can get a nicer pistol for more money, but it's hard to beat the value, if value counts for anything in your book.

Sig

I recently purchased a Sig P229 Equinox (40 S&W). This is by far the best handgun I have every owned. It has night sights and a fiberopitc front sight. It is a good combination of a carry gun and a shooting gun.

My favorite hunting handgun is the Thompson Center Encore. It's accurate, reliable and is available in countless chamberings from 17 Mach II to 500 Nitro Express. With its interchangeable barrels, its 100 guns in one. I have a 15" barrel in 500 S&W Magnum and a 454 Casull 12" barrel. With either barrel, I can take any animal, in any continent including Jumbo and Nyati.

I love handloading the 500 S&W Mag. It's extremely versatile. I can load mild to wild. A 370 grain LNGC at 850 fps to 700 grain WFNGC at 1200 fps. It's a lot of fun to reload, so many choices.

Contact me for info on heavyweight hardcast 500 S&W bullets.

For non-handloaders, there's custom ammo from Grizzly Cartridge Co. They offer mild loads, 350 grain Hawk at 1325 to full house loads of 440 grain WFNGC at 1550 fps. This premium ammo at an affordable price.
