If any one of the three "leaders" get elected you better expect more messin' your gun rights. It's only going to get worse.

Can't disagree with your statement, but wanted to add they can't do it alone. They need Congress to do it too so it is very important to watch what is happening and contact your Senators and Congressmen.

It's a real sh*ter. I'll probably end up casting my vote for Ron Paul, though I really doubt that he has any chance. As long as we have a pro-gun congress I guess we'll be okay. Only one thing I like about Obama is that he is very opposed to the national ID card, you know, the REAL ID. Clinton is on the fence, needs more review of it. I wish more republicans were against it.

I know what you all mean on congress but don't forget executive orders that the President can sign. We can loose a lot of things without being voted on. Also don't forget the Supreme Court.

You are right, the influence that the President can have on the SCOTUS is the scary part if the wrong President gets in office.

This guy pretty well hits on the head as to my feelings for the upcoming election. First time I ever read any of Gary Hubbel's articles and I sure like what he had to say.

Angry White Man

I would like to think I fit into his description.

I like to think that I do to, but I'd only be lying to myself.

I think that article is just a way of making us feel better about ourselves. Unfortunately I've never met one American whiteman yet who came very close having ALL those desireable qualites. All the angry white men I know of are all middle aged, unemployed, disgruntled guys who spend all their free time calling into daytime conservative talk show radio to complain and blame all the minorities and non-white immigrants for all their misfortunes in life. I once heard someone say that it's the empty tin that rattles the most and makes the most noise. As I go through life I can really see the truth in that.

Only one person I've know to come close to having most of those qualities, believe it or not, was an old Japanese guy I once lived next to. Real old fashioned values. He was a real moderate guy too, his actions spoke volumes though.

I for one don't see where the color of one's skin has anything to do with political philosophy -- and I'm tired of people (on both sides) telling me that it does. I don't think of it so much as "angry white man" as it is people of any race or gender or being sick of our political process being focused on rewarding victims, not victors, and a political philosophy driven by the idea that you benefit society by lowering standards instead of raising behaviors.

So I take umbrage to the stereotypes the author employs in his analysis. There are enough people out there on the left trying to portray hunters and NRA members as a bunch of white rednecks. We don't need another one.

I have never once said anything to race or gender. All I stated was that was a difference. I stated it is a difference. There are more of the two are the same than are different. You can tell all of us the difference on there voting on the hill.
My point is this and you took one little thing out of what I said. And I quote

"Gender and race has no issue with me or my family. But the military and my guns do. "
There is a difference in this issue when the candidates and news wants it to be. There has probably no other president alive has done more for race and gender than Bill Clinton and I have herd him called Racist just recently so the cards can be played by certain people and is allowed.

This was my point and I will spell it out. We have 2 candidates running around stating CHANGE what have they change so far in office as senator. The voting records state for them selves. Congress is more worried about Drugs in Baseball than gas. We have a check coming from the government to help the economy but we have 2 candidates say to raise taxes only on the rich. Do you think that they are going to raise taxes on them selves?
Last time I checked my bank I did not have 5 million to loan my self if you all do great for you.

Authors Point is this you have to go by there records and not what they say. Actions speak louder than words!
