I'm looking to purchase another rifle for deer hunting and would like to take it on a Elk hunt, preferably cow elk. My 1st rifle is a Browning .270 BAR, I love it but prefer a lighter more compact rifle. I noticed you have a Winchester featherweight .270. Would yoou reccomend it? I've seen some Remington 30:06 carbines w/18" barrell. I'm older, still love to hunt, cook it and just want to explore lighter guns and more compact and easier to use. Thanks Dave in NC

I have been working and moving at the same time, so havent had much free time. That will change after one more weekend, however.
Before I could afford my .223 I used my ruger 10-22 and it still killed yotes. If you get them in close you can use about anything.
.....and I won't be passin on cats and foxes next season!
