Here on the Island of Maui we hunt Feral Goats, Feral Pigs, Axis Deer and Game Birds.

What does a non resident have to do to hunt there? That would make for a sweet vacation for me, get out of the cold and take in a hunt!

I think a non-resident license costs $95 here but I am not sure. On the public hunting area we have Feral Pigs which we can hunt from February thru June ( weekends only) and Feral Goats year round except for on bird hunting days which are weekends from the first full weekend in November thru the third weekend in January (weekends and Holidays only) as for the Axis Deer they are all on Ptrivate land. I would recommend you check out Maui Hunting Safaris. They have trophy Goat,Pigs and Deer on thier lease. I used to hunt that area before they got the lease and it was awesome!

The only time that I was there I was able to go goat and pig hunting.  I had to borrow a rifle but it was quite enjoyable.  That was only 25 years ago.

We were staying on the Big Island in Kona and hunted the Parker Ranch.  I got set up with them when I went out fishing with one of their guides.   

Parker ranch still offers Pay Hunts on the Big Island for Goats, Pigs, and Turkey they have a web site that has all of the information.

I was out on a charter fishing boat and was introduced to one of their guides.  They had a couple of cancelations so we worked out a deal that morning and the next day I was hunting goats and pigs.  When I headed over there on a vacation I never thought that I would be doing that.  I got a nice boar but didn't get into the goats.  We saw some but with the limited time I had I just couldn't do it.  Price wasn't too bad since it was a cancelation and they only charged me about a quarter of what it would of been.  But then the hunters that canceled lost their deposit so that helped me.  It would be fun to get over there again and have a week to just have fun going after those critters. 

Here on the Island of Maui most of the Hunting is on Private Land. I get to go as a guest every now and then but not as often as I would like. The public hunting area has some Feral Goats and Quite a few Feral Pigs. Right now we are under severe drought conditions and I expect the Public hunting area to be closed due to this very soon. About a year ago we had a major Forrest Fire in the Hunting area and the forrest hasn't yet recovered from it.

That would be awesome to go there for a week.  Like go hunting for pigs on the weekend then relax on the beach for the rest of the week.  Maybe learn how to surf.
