Our right to bear arms won't mean anything once the liberals take office again. They just think all people with guns and those who speak out are would-be terrorists.

So true!!! This is the real problem with the Patriot act! As long as Republicans are in office it probably won't be used to target law-abiding gun owners too specifically. But there are plenty of provisions in it that could be used by an anti-gun administration to make life a living hell for anyone who owns a gun. And you know darn well that one of these years, probably within an election or two, we WILL have another anti-gun administration!

This is the fundamental problem with giving power and money to government. It always seems like a good idea when "your" guys are in office, but sooner or later the "other" guys are going to be in office and then you're going to HATE what they do with it!

I sure hope that Hilary Clinton never takes office. She'd probably make Michael Moore vice president.

Actually, look at what the Patriot Act does. It clearly and in many ways violates the US Constitution. Things like Due Process, Unlawful Search and Seizure, are disregarded and tossed to the wayside. This was not a bill introduced by the Democratic Party but by the Bush Administration and the Republicans.

What scared the heck out of me was that NO ONE took the time to read it before they voted. The Congress and Senate either knew what was in it or rather than learn, they just acted in haste without thought.

It won't be the dismantling of the second amendment that is the start of the destruction of freedom but the curtailing of intangible freedoms in the name of security. Once your right to travel, your right to speak your own mind in private and attend the church of your choice is gone then it will be easy to disarm 'We the People'.

A national driver's license is a short step from a national ID card and then Homeland Security asking the question, "Your papers?"

Just something to think about...

Thing about the Bush administration and the Republicans is, although yeah, they passes this Patriot Act, they are pro-NRA. But Republicans are greedy creatures, they tend place their own agendas above all else. But the Liberals are just as bad, only they work differently. They are all for this political correctness crap, you can easily spot movies that have liberal politics in mind, such as The Contender, where the main character makes sure to have one particularly great (or long) speech where she goes on and on about how she believes every gun should be taken from every home, abortion is a woman's right to choose (ok, so I agree with this one), and the death penalty should be abolished (I can't even expand on how mad that makes me), and so on and so on.
