i wasnt going to remark on this but i think i will, heres the rule- all of Cali is completely nutzo liberal, any where west of the mountains in Washington is completely nutzo liberal and from what ive seen is any city in Oregon bigger than than like twenty five is pretty much completely liberal nutzo, welcome to the left coast
I suspect it has a lot to do with all the rich riff-raff who have moved there from California with their desire to make Oregon into California-north.
Don't be fooled. It is not only the Californian's. It is also directly related to sportsmen not wanting to support ALL legal outdoor activities. There are fly fishermen who look down their noses at bait fishermen and bird hunters who don't want traps in the field and elk hunters who think hounding and baiting is "too easy" or wrong.
i live in portland and i have seen more and more californians moveing here year after year messing up our houseing market and try to change everything. I know there are some "native" liberal bone heads here, but the vast majority are from california.
Like I said, I understand your frustration but you need to look at the facts. Cities such as Portland, and Eugene have always been liberal strongholds long before Californians began fleeing the illegal invasion. Another point is the fact that our states politicians are not California transplants, they are Oregonians. The only way to create actual change is through legislation, and it's being pushed by our liberal politicians.
Quick numbers to ponder: Californians in Bend make up just under 12% of the population. 72% of those are registered Republicans. I suppose it's a regional issue, people that move to the East side of the mountain tend to be more conservative and on the West more liberal. I can't speak on Portland issues but I would assume that Californians moving to Portland are more liberal. My folks were born in Salem and left there nearly 50 years ago because the State in general was becoming more of a Socialist community every year. By far the majority of "goofball libs" here in Bend are the ones coming over from the West side of Washington and Oregon. As far as the housing market, the entire country is going through the same mess. Housing cost always goes through major spikes in popular areas.
being a native i have seen what all the wackos and tourists that have moved here and wrecked our state have done. maybe if they would just go back instead of staying after they go to dizyland, would help, but blaming me for your problems isn't . we have a saying here "wecome to california, now go home " . I just have to go away into the Sierra's farther, besides I never needed a dog to help me get game

Me neither, dont think I'll ever need a mutt to help me hunt. But I do like them pheasant go getters' ![]()
It really pisses me that the lefty PITA types have changed the game laws. As a result there are an over population of bear and courgar. We have tried to change the law back a couple of times with no success, even with ODFW support.

I do not like hunting bear or cougar over bait personnaly but it is a good management tool, espcially in western Oregon where the timber and brush are much hicker. I alway get a tag for bear and cougar. Spring bear ths year was a bust for NEO due to the late snow pack. Hopefully we'll draw a spring bear tyag next year. This year I go for the fall bear.
DON'T CALIFORNACATE OREGON!!!!!

Hi I'm new and I saw this thread and agree they should let us hunt w dogs again, the cats (mostly) are getting worse and worse around here where I live. I've lived in the same town for 20 yrs now and not once ever had I heard anything about cats running aroung here, but in the last year there has been 3 that I know of running around here two of which were finally taken by property owners but these cats are hanging aroung schools and towns where our kids play outside by themselves because we feel safe to let them do so, just up the road a cat was spotted watching some kids at a bus stop. It's ridiculous.
