What do you want from your government?

So you're saying quell dissent? Anyone not agreeing with the new socialist messiah should be......... ......complete this sentence. Tell us precisely what you mean. Silenced? Re-educated? Punnished? What would you do to those ignorant enough to disgree with you Oh all knowing lord of political wisdom?

Wow. Just when I thought we would live in a free country. Let me guess, JR -- like pogo, you think allowing "token" dissent is sufficient, just as long as that symbolic dissent isn't strong enough to actually interfere with the Dear Leader's agenda?

All I'm saying is that there's a time and place for dissent. Dissent that serves the needs of this country is one of the most patriotic things possible. But we need to draw the line when dissent starts spreading hate or interfering with what's best for the country. I know I'm not alone on this, because I've been looking through some of the older posts and have seen this same thought expressed by others. I know pangolin, for one, will back me up on this. He's a smart guy, and no doubt realizes that when it comes to the greater good, we need to clear the road and get naysayers out of the way so we can get the country where it needs to be.

No, we don't. It's just that simple. It's called the first amendment. Deal with it or go where they don't have one.

Bunny Slobber:

Hey, I'm all for the first amendment. People should be able to say whatever they want when it comes to government, as long as it's constructive. America has spoken, and what it wants is President Obama's agenda. There's nothing wrong with being critical, because diversity of opinion gives us ideas for how better to implement the agenda. So we should encourage people to come up with better ways of helping the change happen. But there's a difference between constructive criticism and destructive criticism; there's too many people being obstructionist and trying to stop the movement -- that's just not good for the country.

Are you just going to leave me hanging here, pangolin? Surely I'm not alone on this.

So Mr. 1st amendment, who decides what is constructive and not constructive? Define constructive. Let me guess. Obamas cabinet? You? The supreme court? What do you use a your constructive gauge? How do you deal with those you define as not constructive? Sorry sparky this is as unconstitutional and anti 1st amendment an idea as I've ever heard. In fact I dont think it's "constructive". let's ban him. Shame on You!
