What do you do when you are home sick?

unfortunalty i am home sick, and bored out of my gord.   I can only stare out the window so long.  anyway it is deer season and i can't chase them.  I am supposed to have next week off to chaise those bucks.  but Not sure if i can justify taking a week off when i been home sick for a few days.

  If the boss or supervisor

If the boss or supervisor is a hunter they will certainly understand and you are hunting next week.  If you are an owner of your own business you are hunting next week.  If you are in upper management you are hunting next week.  If neither of these describe your employment situation then don't worry about work and take off next week and hunt anyhow.  You have waited all year for this week so don't allow this week-prior illness to dissuade you from your hunt.  Take your vitamins and drink plenty of fluids so you are not still sick next week.  If you are successful in your hunt maybe come back early... but don't miss out on your hunt!

Hopefully you get feeling

Hopefully you get feeling better and are able to keep your season together. I wouldn't give mine up that's for sure. I've been fortunate in that I have not called in sick for over twenty years now. Gone in not feeling too good but made it through anyway.

Sleep till you feel better get back to work and then go hunting. Yes

sometimes the decisions can

sometimes the decisions can be hard.  My main priority in the last couple of years has been keeping people employed, but the boss has to recharge his batteries also.  Plus, i filled my 2 elk tags, i would like to fill my 2 deer tags with  a nice muley and a nice whitetail.  season ends dec 1.

Everybody makes their own call

Everybody makes their own call based on where you are at in life and what teh background is.  Getting advice from someone else is of questionable use at best but since you asked I will tell you that when I was young I had spent time scouting the area behind my home and I was pretty sure that had a big buck patterned.  All I needed to do was get in to his bedding area before he did and wait for him to arrive when the season opened.  I came down with the flu for opening weekend and spent it in bed.  When I went out to kill that deer a few days later, all I found was a gut pile and a neighborhood story about how a guy from out of town stumbled onto a huge 8 point...........

That taught me a valuable lesson and a year or two later I took my first buck while home from work sick, running a fever, and had to stop at the bathroom after shooting and before tracking him down.

I have very rarely been too sick to hunt after those experiences.
