What is the differences in the A-bolts ?

What is the difference between the Browning A-bolt hunter and a Browning A-bolt II. I bought an a-bolt hunter, didn't look at untill I got home and it wasn't what I remembered. the bbl. looked very long, it wasn't just 22" the stock looked short the length of pull is the same as my other brownings but I think the forearm is short. When I put it to my shoulder the sling stud is resting in the palm of mt hand ! I'm and average sized guy, so what gives ?

Here's the link to the 19 models of Browning A Bolts, don't know if it will help or not

You bought a gun without ever holding it?

You might have received a Micro Hunter. They're about 3" shorter than regular rifles, including a 2" shorter barrell.

I think that the A-Bolt II has been out for around 10 years, so it's now common to see "A-Bolt" and "A-Bolt II" used interchangeably.

Yep. I did. I was so disgusted trying to make the stevens 200 to shoot. I didn't care what I got ! No it isn't a micro medallion, I had one a few years back. But I do believe the forend is shorter.
I've been at the range since 1 pm today shooting it and trying different brands of ammo , win. 100 grn power points,Federal vital shock, Remington and some some of my reloads. It shot well enough to hunt with but when I tried the Remington 100 grn core lockt it became a tack driver. I was able to shoot 12 oz plastice coke bottles filled with water at at 250 yds.But I was disappointed with the vel. I coronographed every different kind of ammo. and All shot around 2880. It appears the Remington factory stuff shoots best.
I've always had my best luck with 85 grn bullets so thats next on the agenda as soon as I can get some loaded.
ON a side note I put a Simmons Master Series scope on the rifle, the same one I blamed for poor accuracy on the Savage and it worked perfectly. So I didn't switch to any of the Leaupolds and Nikons I was going to try. cool
