What caliber to use this season: 7.62 x 39 or .303

I have a dilemma, ive been deer hunting a few times with no sucess but the place im hunting this year is crawling with deer.
I have a sks rifle and am an excellent shot with it out to 125 yds (thats as far as my local range goes out). I have 2 friends that hunt with the sks and they swear buy it.
I also have an old Enfield .303 that i am also accurate with at 125 yds. It looks like this would have more stopping power than the sks but maybe a bit of overkill.
What do you all think? Any one else here hunt with either of these?

Let me describe where i am hunting at. There is a lot of woods and mountains with creeks crisscrossing them as well as a field that offers shots up to about 200 yds. I will be hunting both. We have spotted lots of deer within 50 to 75 yds of where im putting my stand for the field and i figure the longest shot ill have in the woods is about 60 yds.
Season starts in a month and i need some advice.
Thanks

I have a real soft spot for the 303 Brit. but at under a hundred you can't go wrong with either. The 303 is hard enough to find a variety of ammo choices for but how is the 7.62x39 for ammo choices?

ive found a few different varieties of ammo for it so far, nothing to impressive as a deer round but i think winchester makes one that would work well. My practice rounds are full metal jacket, hollow points that i got 1000 of for free.. Of course i cant hunt with FMJ's here. Ive gotten pretty accurate with them. They are made buy Wolf and ive found some other styles they have that im going to try when i go to sight in my new scope next week.

I don't think the 303 is overkill. Here in MN most people use 30-06 and they take deer from 10 to 300 yards out. I personally shoot a 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser that has been sporterized. It is a great shooting light weight rifle that can stretch out to 400 if need be.

For the 303 try and find some norma shells i believe they make a 150 or 165 gr with alot of pop.
