Bunny, there are even worse forms of punishment -- like going shoe shopping with Nancy Pelosi or taking a sauna with Barney Frank. Don't mess with the Jackalope!

And by the way, Don -- we're over 12 hours of sun per day and it was still -28 this morning with a windchill of -40. After nearly six months of winter, cabin fever doesn't begin to describe it.

You know, jackalopes are the most gentle of our Earth Mother's creatures, and deserve our protection. Thankfully, the Obama administration has declared them an endangered species and imposed stiff penalties on anyone who harrasses one. These penalties can include going for a drive with Ted Kennedy, opening a package from Bill Ayers, giving a speech without a teleprompter, or attending this year's Code Pink convention.

You didn't read the fine print. There is a free membership to PETA as well. Think about it guys! Think

Expatriate.

Know what you mean. When I lived near Big Lake, my mother and a friend of hers came up for a visit during the summer. They couldn't believe it was still full daylight at 3 in the morning. Then durning the winter we did build a few houe's. Start with light's at 7am, dusk for about 1/2 around 11am, then turn off the light's about 4pm and go home. We seldom worked in under -10 waether! I loved Alaska but work ran out during a bust cycle.

Hauled an RV up to Fairbanks about 2004 begining of June. Sure has changed up there. Did you know an old outlaw attounry named Geogre McNab? I met him while he was living at the Rainbow Bar near Big Lake. Him and Scatter Edwards were a hoot!

I don't know either one of them. The jackalopes must've got them.

Actually, what most people don't realize is that up here we don't have a lot of jackalopes due to the climate. Up here, we have the Lemmabou, which is a nasty little rodent sporting an enormous double-shovel rack. They're not as dangerous during the summer and fall, though, because the weight of the rack throws them off balance and they spend months just spinning around in circles trying to stand up. This makes them easy prey for wolves and eagles and explains their rarity as a species.

Depends on whether the beasts have been naughty...

A Reading from the Book of Armaments, Chapter 4, Verses 16 to 20:

Then did he raise on high the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, saying, "Bless this, O Lord, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy."

And the people did rejoice and did feast upon the lambs and toads and tree-sloths and fruit-bats and orangutans and breakfast cereals ...

Now did the Lord say, "First thou pullest the Holy Pin. Then thou must count to three. Three shall be the number of the counting and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither shalt thou count two, excepting that thou then proceedeth to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the number of the counting, be reached, then lobbest thou the Holy Hand Grenade in the direction of thine foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."
