well, my oldest is now 10 and we still havent been out YET! We've gotten him a little compound bow and he loves to shoot with me, but the little bugger has already outgrown it. I'm also getting his little brothers, 6 and 7, bows. The best part about it is that his mother, my wife, has really come around and now wants to go on the elk hunt with me. I've actually just ordered a bow for my wife too
We'll be doing alot of hiking and backpacking starting with small day trips into the local canyons. My wife and i went up on a hike last Thanksgiving and ran into about 40 head of deer in the foothills behind my house.
The boys grow up fast, like little monkey weeds.
Should be a great summer of camping and hiking. Now the biggest problems I'm facing is the video games and their father. He thinks I'm trying to steal his kids from him
Makes things a bit difficult. Another problem is getting little boys to sit still. Teaching patience is not the easiest thing in the world to do. I'm thinking about getting a blind and setting it up near a water hole for the elk hunt. I'm thinking its going to be a barn burner of a summer here in Utah.
But thanks for all of your input, not to mention the support. I'm really looking forward to making this a family event. ![]()
