What about a elk hunt

What would you guys in Colorado think about getting a big elk contest going rules would be simple this would be non profit in fact any state can enter, small entry fee talking like $20.00 bucks all proceeds will go to RMEF or something like that except the winner gets their $20.00 bucks back and reconized as the winner need help with plans if you think it might work and how many would be interested.

Paul,
We are at such a disadvantage in Colorado, if you include other states. Everyone knows we are "the raghorn state", I mean look at the monsters that are coming out of PA, KY & TX. How can we compete with UT, NM & AZ let alone MT, WY, AB, BC, WA, OR & NV.
Now if you just keep it, Colorado only I think it'd be fair and my 186" raggy might have a chance. LOL

OK just Colorado hunters do this. Also have certain rules to like no guided hunts only public land maybe just make it as fair as possible and maybe even film it if you can and maybe i could get it put into a show, i know a few guys might be willing to put it on their show.

Count me in! I think all entries have to be photographed and posted on this site. I like looking at the pictures.

Hiker,
You can still get a bull tag over the counter, and you can wait until you draw a tag if you want a first or fourth hunt. Still got some rules to think about, so pitch in ideas about hunt those are good so far.

What about a elk hunt

Paul,
I'm planning on a first season Elk hunt with my church group. I'm going to apply for a bull tag but if not successful will end up with a cow tag for 2nd choice. I agree with on the over the counter bull tags for 2nd and 3rd but I am planning a hunt in Wyoming during that time with my bride and daughter. A couple rules that you should consider for this contest......#1 High Fence "Kill Hunts" excluded. #2 Public land only Bulls.
Thanks,
Jeff aka raggy chaser
