Were back from Quebec

Hi all, I just came back from my annual bear hunt in Quebec. My buddy and I went up together this year and were met by some friends that came in a few days later. Well this year I got the biggest bear! He squared 6'8" and had a 19" melon head. My buddy that drove us up got a great bear also. His bear squared 6'2". I don't know what his skull would measure seeing he shot it in the head. When we skinned it, the skull was mush. I would guess it around 18" though, if intact. A real nice bear by Quebec's standards. Our other buddies all tagged after we left. Here are a few photos. They make the bears look alot bigger than they really are. Enjoy!

Great bears and great

Great bears and great pictures!!

I haven't taken a bear yet but plan to make it happen one of these days, just not sure where. I have a limited tag here this year but not sure how much time I'll have. All spot and stalk here also.

I've looked at Canada but would prefer to stay a bit closer to home. That's about as far from here as you can get. Plus I still need to get a passport one of these days. Never had one yet. Last time I went to Canada was 30 years ago and wasn't an issue at all.

Great looking bear, I keep

Great looking bear, I keep thinking of heading back up to BC to do another hunt in the spring time. There is just something about being in the middle of a wilderness to lift the spirits up after a cold winter.

Wade, you don't need a passport to get into Canada but you do need one to get back into the US, so if you plan on a one way trip. neener!

You really should take the time to get a passport, then if something comes up that you need one for you have it and are ready to go instead of having to jump through government hoops to expidite one.

I plan to start working one

I plan to start working one soon. I've actually avoided getting one for what seemed to me a very good reason. My wife is Filipino, if I have the passport I have no valid reason not to go on vacation with her back there for a visit.

Not a problem in itself but she likes to go for 3 weeks and I refuse to use up the bulk of my vacation time for something I'm not that interested in.lol

I would like to go but not for that long. I need my vacation time for hunting trips. I have started to look into some fishing options over there but it's not easy to find.

Congratulations to you and

Congratulations to you and all your friends on a great bear and hunt. Sounds like all had a great time and hard to beat a hunt where all fill their tags.

Thanks

Thanks guys. I just got this photo of my buddies bears. Bad photo from a phone but 4 bears in one night. The guy that didn't shoot passed on 5 different bears. He killed one the next evening that was smaller than one he passed on the previous evening. Go figure. I guess he didn't want to go home empty handed, seeing they were leaving for home the next day. Nice!

Nice photos and congrats on you all filling your bear tags.

One of these days I intend to take a bear off my list but it's a long list to work through. I was thinking of combining a bear and moose hunt in Newfoundland.

Somehow I skipped the bear section, so I am a little behind.  Couple of beauties right there! Congrats all the way around!!!!
