The first of some 400 to come, I should have thought of this last week. The part about taking your guns is somewhere in the middle.

In case you missed it this is the one from last week, by clicking on this link you could bring the hit count closer to a million.

You're right! I just clicked on the link and there was no video -- just text that said "no longer available." Laugh Laugh Laugh

Yeah, you can't view the first one anymore, but the new one is available. You know, that whole rebuilding the countries infrastructure deal to boost the economy was a republican idea. That was floating around the party long before the debates. I'm glad to see it being used. I'm also getting a good laugh at dem's taking the credit for a great idea.

Hey, do you think they'll create some new jobs by forming a "Gun Census" for 2010?

I just tried both and got the same thing..."no longer available." I figured that represented Obama's vision of gun ownership. Maybe SoCo's still work.

I'm not that worried about it. Eventually the technology will be worked out to where this will become mandatory viewing. Maybe it'll be replaced with regular addresses on TV like the Hugo Chavez show. lol

Hmmm...the latest is that he's going to embark on the biggest public works spending spree since the Intersatate highway system. I really have to wonder how he's going to fund that if he follows through on his promise of lower taxes -- especially since the economy has shrunk and reduced tax receipts into the treasury. He'll either have to raise taxes, which will add friction to the economy, or increase the deficit above the $10+ trillion it is now -- which will be a drag on the economy as well.

Private industry is the engine behind the economy, not the government. It's one thing for the government to pump money into the economy if it has it, but another thing entirely to take money out of the economy. Economic recovery should be aided by reducing government spending, not increasing it.

maybe I can clarify for you.

There's no arguement left / right, liberal / conservative on what needs to be done. In a recession of this magnitude everyone is a Keynsian. The only discussion is how to get there. Deficit spending is going to be a fact of life. We'll borrow and spend like there's no tommorrow and hope it helps and that we get there before inflation kicks our buts. Look at Japan in the 90s if you want to see what we are up against, except we have no money. They had deflation, we can just print the stuff.

Tax increases on rich people are no longer important. Mostly the capital gains that would be taxed aren't there. The tax breaks to the middle class are simply stimulous. More than money people need work. Without work people don't spend. We are set to continue to lose a half million jobs well into next year long before any public works jobs can have an affect. The idea is to shove money into state and local govts who have roads and bridges planned already, they will be ablet to put people to work quicker.

Predictions are double digit unemployment before we reach bottom, the numbers on % of adults of working age fully employed haven't reached pre 2001 levels yet. Remember the last recovery was a jobless recovery. It's no secret that unemp numbers are way under true unemployment.

You would have a very difficult time finding anyone suggesting we reduce govt spending now. No matter what idealogical side people come from there has been an "aha!" moment. No more supply siders left. The ecomomy speaks for itslelf.
