Washington's NO BAIT....NO DOGS

I was just wondering on some of the opinions of some of the Washington bear hunters feel about these NO BAIT and NO DOGS laws...........I can understand the no dogs laws to an extent but no bait.....I feel it should be a go..Dog laws could be a little bit on the more regulated side..as far as seasons go. But these are just my Opinons......Feel free to post anything..... Thumbs up

Washington's NO BAIT....NO DOGS

It has been so long now that I don't really care either way, I get my bear every year.

I would like to see the F&G give permits to the AHE graduates to bait, but it will never happen.

I'll tell ya, it's not as easy as it sounds. Over here on the WETside it is so darn thick.
I worked my butt off last year, but I saw four during the spring (killed one) and I saw 3 during the regular season (didn't even raise my rifle). Actually I let my son shoot at one (missed) and my partner shot at one (missed, he missed two actually) and the other walked right into our camp in the middle of the day and managed to escape without getting lead poison.

Some of the sightings are on the road, 3 of the bears were called in.

Sure and let's fish with just a hook...

That's the way I look at it. I mean it makes about as much sense, but what can we expect when a bunch of tree-huggin, bambi-lovin, ignorant twits that don't hunt, fish or trap, get to decide for those of us that do, what we can use and how we can hunt/trap/fish for these creatures.

I beleive the initiative process here in Washington has been misused by special-interest groups. The ban on dogs/bait for bears and cougars, and the ban on body-grip traps are two prime examples of people who don't even have anything to do with a particular activity getting to decide for those of us that do participate. We have a Fish and Game Commission in this state, whos' job it is to decide these things.

Oh yah, the stupid Smoking Ban in this state is another example of the initiative process gone wrong. I don't even smoke, but I voted against the ban. I figure who am I to tell a business owner what legal activity he can allow in his establishment. Smoking tobacco is still a legal activity. Besides the fact, the majority of the people that voted for the ban, probably don't even go to a bar or lounge more than once in a blue moon. I accepted the fact that if I wanted to go hang out with my friends and shoot pool, and have a few beers, I would have to tolerate cigarette smoke. The only time I ever complained about someones smoke was if they held it away from them so it wouldn't blow in their face, only to have it blow in my face. That's just plain ignorant and rude...

Anyway, enough ranting...knew I shouldn't have got started...
