Washington Poached Forky

This year I spent a bundle of time in the woods. I seen tons of deer and even a few elk here in NE Washington; But nothing would've prepared me for what I found on January first of 2006. While wandering some steep canyons in Northern Lincoln Co. I stumbled on to a monster buck. He was picked clean and was laying on an open ridge. His sholders were shattered from what appeared to be a gun shot. He is 20" wide and 21" tall with 6 1/2" bases; but nothing but a 2X2. I went back and got the teeth and sent them in to check for age.

HUGE

There are some huge two points in Lincoln county.  And when you're out looking for a three point or better and run across one of those fellas, it's really, really hard not to pull the trigger.  You do everything in your power to grow one more little point somewhere.  Someone probably shot it hoping to find a one inch point and when he didn't have one, just left it laying.  What a shame!

What school are you a FFA member of??   And do they still call it Future Farmers of America at your school or have they cut it back to just plain F F A (nothing but initials) like they have in the more metropolitan areas?  By the way, did you report the kill to the game department?

FFA president

Klifferd - I don't think that I mentioned it, but my son is president of the junior Future Farmers of America in our school.

Some of those 2x2sout in Washington state are wider and bigger racked than ten points in my neck of the woods!

The biggest 2 point I ever

The biggest 2 point I ever killed here in Colorado was similar with deep forks and exactley 20" wide. Of course the second smallest buck I ever killed was a 2 point even smaller than a spike I took being 4" tall with a small split on the ends. I would have actually been able to put a doe tag on it as it was less than 5".
