Washington Game Wardens- Are they Fair?

I am an extreme outdoorsman and when it comes to the laws of the WFWD I am very abiding. I Buy every hunting and fishing licence and tag's. I also put in for the special drawings and I donate to wildlife funds offten. I have had alot of bad experiences with game wardens treating me like Im some kind of poacher/ out of state city slicken no knowledge hunter fisher that is trying to do somthing wrong! I think they need to have a little more respect and a little more understanding. And also I dont like how they try and confuse you with the laws and rules in the Regulations. Making simple statment's into complex puzzles that you have to read between the lines to understand. How does evertyone feel about today's game department/ wardens?

Im not sure what areas you run into these wardens at but, all the areas we hunt the wardens are always super nice and full of advice and more than willing to help with where the last saw certian game, We were bow fishing over at potholes a few years ago and ran into 2 wardens out and after bsing for a while we told them they were more than welcom to come out with us, to make a long story short they both came back after they got off and came out with us that night and stayed out till about midnight just shootin carp and havin a few beers. I think alot of the wardens are sportsmen as well and just have better jobs than most. But for the most part they are pretty good guys.

I am on the fence here. I have met a few that were nice, talked about the outdoors and gave info. But I have met more that were rude, uneducated and deciving.

Unfortunately the bad ones over shadow the good ones to me.

I have only run into 2 wardens that werent nice, they knew everything and as far as they thought I was smuggling bear intestines to sell to the chinese(just kidding on that last part)but both of them were about my age (25) and I later found out that they were fresh out of school. So its a lot like police when they get out of school, sometimes them come off as all knowing when the simple fact is that they over assert themselves in an attempt to become the dominate party in the situation.

Hunted and fished Wash. for 35+ years, I have seen a change for the worst, but all in all most a pretty good guy and gals. Think about the JERKS we run into out there and those guys a out there more than us! One thing that has helped for me during hunting is I always have the action open on my rifle when I'm in the rig, always were the can see at a glance that its safe, This puts them more at ease right away. Some of the younger guys just need to puff up thier chests! LOL
