I just thought I'd share my Buck withya all. I shot this on the opening day for late buck. He was run'n with a couple does and a 3x. Real nice rack even with the broken off point on the left side. 18" wide and 16" tall. HUGE neck. Made my season this year!! Seeing as last year I was unable to hunt this area due to the flooding. Washed out my access. Anyways, hope ya all dont mind my droping in. BTW, anyone have any good info for a mule deer hunt in Montana?? I'd like to start scouting over there for deer and elk for this coming year.
Iceman, People i brougth were always talking and were cooking breakfast (bacon) and smoking before the early morning hunt. We just walk 1 mile to the hunting grounds. Scouted first and saw some big tracks. but no bucks showed up.
One of the things I struggle with when afield is keeping my rifle clean and in good working order. Small amounts of dust and dirt collect moisture; moisture can freeze rendering your action immovable when you need it most. I have seen this happen on multiple occasions, and over time, I’ve learned the cause and how to prevent this from happening.
The first thing that you need to avoid before going afield is leaving excess oil on the gun. Oil will trap dirt and sand in all the wrong places....
