Ging to hunt 111 for early muzzleloader. The ranch owner says thereare about 400 whittail on the ranch which butts up to Colville national Forest. I have never hunted Whitetail, so what is the best method?/ Tree stand or walk and stalk??

The fire is down SW of Keller which is 100 miles from the ranch. They took some nice bucks off the ranch but missed2 big ones with a bow. One is a 5x7 whitetail. might be easier to hit with a muzzleloader than a bow, if i can find him.. Also heard there were a couple bulls around the area last week. Can't wait for the next 2 1/2 weeks to go by!!! Hope to post pics when i return

Depending on how long you will have to hunt. May be a good idea to bring a stand along. Do some spot and stalk and scout areas that may be best for a stand. Best of luck to ya.

Talked to the Forest guy for the area we are going to hunt, and He said the private land is running 16-19 bucks per hundred does with about half being mature bucks(4x4 or larger) Sounds like it may be a good year. Now if I can just hit something with the muzzleloader Big smile
