You can hunt for free at the Lake Wappapella ground. Contact the MO Dept. of Conservation or the Corps of Engineers for info, but some friends and I went down there a couple of years ago. We did see some sign, and the folks at the Corps office at the dam gave you maps showing where the most sighting of the hogs were at. We only hunted for a day, and the guys I were with were not very serious about hunting (co-workers), so we didn't end up getting any. It was still a fun trip, and if someone was serious and put in some time scouting, I'm sure they can be found.
Let me start off by saying I am not a farmer.
I am a deer hunter and I do own a tractor and have all of the equipment - but that does not make you a farmer any more than standing in the garage makes you a car - well, you get the picture!
Having said that - and with most of my ineptitude fairly well hidden - I do think that buckwheat is one of the most under rated cover crops out there.
I say cover crop because I see mixed results as it relates to the deer eating the plants.
