The presidential election, posts on this forum and elsewhere along with letters to the editor have made realize that we are in a culture war.
On one side are those that want to socialize the US, are intolerant of anything or anyone that doesnt share a liberal outlook, dare to disagree with blacks, hispanics and homosexuals. They want to label us homophobs or racists if we do.
They believe in wealth redistribution, a one world government and in the government taking care of everyone.
On the other side there are those that believe in capitalism, self-responsibility, independenc and freedom from the government, the government in a limite-capacity serving the people and America first.
We can and should argue on which side is right, but the issue I've come to realize is that the side that is 180 opposite than me is waging a war and my side is not fully engaged.
We are like McCain who stuck to public funding when B O broke his promise. Part of the reason that B O won is that he had far more funds than McCain, but McCain felt obligated to keep his promise. Well, all is fair in love and war.
We need to wake up and stand up. We need to fight for what we believe in and not be afraid to take a stance even when we are attacked and called racist, homophob, etc.
