This was a video I made of my 2006 hunting season where I took my 12 yr old son out on his first hunt. I tried to piece together the whole season including typical camp pics. Also if you can sit through the thing, I've got a kill shot at the end. It was the last night of the hunt! Anyways, it was another head-on shot. That cow ran only 50 yds afterwards.
Video of Opening Day Elk Hunting .... you won't believe!
Nice pics......but what have you put around those stumps? Between the fighting and the fact that they are focused around them like a trough leads me to believe there has to be some sort of attractant/bait. In the first pics looks like you have some salt or something out there.....and a bunch of it.
Everyone has different ideas about trophy pictures. Looks around and you will see "long armers," "set behinders," "big cheesers," and "blood covered brutes." I have a few tips to keep your trophy pictures from being laughers or worse yet just plain gross.
#1 Clean it up. Try to avoid bullet holes, gut pile, mass amounts of blood, and the tongue sticking out. You don't want your big buck to look like a angry 1st grader with his tongue out or a MMA fighter during the 3 round.
#2 Long arming...
