Vermont Moose Winners Announced

Didn't see it posted yet, so I'll throw it out there.  Didn't put in this year, but actually see a couple of people from my hometown that I know.

Ca_V, What's the cost of the permits? And what's the chances of getting a permit?

I think the out of state

I think the out of state license is $90 or so, plus $25 for a non-refundable aplication fee, and $350 if you get drawn.  So, all told, just under $500 for a non resident if you get drawn.

As for odds, I think I saw that it's about 4% for non-residents.  I actually know someone who has been drawn twice as a NR though, so there's always hope.

I think they just started

I think they just started doing the point thing recently.  However, I still think some of the tags are given out regardless of points, just straight draw.

I wish I could be that lucky and finally draw my CO tag. I'm not sure if I'll ever get it. Just gotta keep applying I guess.

One of the hunting shows I

One of the hunting shows I watch had a moose hunt from Colorado a couple of weeks ago.  I can't remember how many years they had been applying.  14 maybe, or something like that.

Wow... what hunting show was

Wow... what hunting show was that? I always love watching hunting from my state but they all end up being on some big ranch and are nothing like what I am used to (aka actually hunting and putting in an effort). But the vast majority of moose are taken on public land and I would love to see that hunt. Did they use a rifle, muzzleloader or bow? Did it say what part of the state they were in? I am really hoping that I get the channel that you saw this on and that they will replay it!

I am not sure exactly which

I am not sure exactly which show it was on, but I do know it was on Versus.  That's the only hunting channel i get, with the exception of Saturday morning on ESPN.  I will do some quick checking and see if I can find any info.

Well, it didn't take long to

Well, it didn't take long to find the show and episode, but I cannot seem to find a link so that you can actually watch it online.  You might just have to keep an eye out for when this show airs and see if you can catch it replaying.

http://www.ruger.com/links/adventures.html

If you go to the page and scroll down, it gives a quick description.  It says the guy waited 12 years (Sorry, thought 14), and he did it all himself on public land, no guide, etc.  Just a buddy, and if I am correct, his son came back from somewhere overseas (Military maybe?).  Good episode if you get the chance to watch it.
