2011 Wasatch LE Elk Hunt #3073

My brother, son and myself were lucky enough to all draw tags for Sept. Wasatch hunt this year.  Sure would appreciate any info you can share as far as herd/hunting and camping locations.  We do not have horses, but do have ATVs and will hike.  Would like to get an opportunity at a 300 or better animal. First time hunting Utah, will swap info on Montana, Nevada, Colorado or California.

Looks like you are all set up. The bulls that I posted scouting pics on were in the Wasatch mts unit. Let us know how the hunt goes.

If you haven't hunted the

If you haven't hunted the area before I would suggest the area south of Strawberry Reservoir in the Willow Creek area and west to the Sheep Creek road.  Just be aware that there is some private in that area.  ATV access is restricted to existing roads and marked trails, you get caught off of these trails and big trouble show up.

Depending on how you are going in you can go in off of HWY 40 on the north or US 6 on the south.
