This is great news for FUTURE hunting but a bunch of yearlings doesn't mean anything to me this year. Or for any of my hunting partners for that matter. I think its going to be another tough year for a hunter looking for a decent buck. A couple years from now whould be pretty good though.

Perhaps but personally I'd like to see if this uptick in moisture holds on for a few more years before any predictions about future hunting. A one year decrease in fawn mortality rates is good, but I hope it continues for a sustainable future.

Not trying to be negative, I think its great news, but I'd like to see a consistent year-over-year uptick in rain before I start getting hopeful that mule deer number are on the rebound.

The fact that we all get excited about a one year uptick in mule deer numbers demonstrates how troubling it is for everybody to see mule deer head counts in the dumps....
