THis is not to upset anyone but hunting bear with dogs, doesnt that take the fun out of the sport of hunting? I could see using dogs to find a downed animal but not to hunt them. I think its to risky for the dog.

Go with someone with dogs.Your in for a big surprise.Hope your in shape.

Yes, I am in shape and I dont know anyone with dogs that hunt, other than the guys around here who have labs and hunt geese.

Its alot harder to tree a bear with dogs then what alot of people try to make people think.Sure the easy part is when you are actually standing under the tree to shot the bear, but there is alot more to it then that.Sometimes it is very hard to get the bear treed. They might run for miles before they tree if they tree at all.Alot of the bigger bear over 300 pounds seldom tree and only walk along fighting the dogs. The smaller bear 100 pounds or less are all legs and run like jack rabbits.

We also have pretty stiff trespass laws. If You don't own it stay the hell off! In wisconsin they allow bear hunting with dogs Most of the arguements there are where the dogs picked up the scent

bear with hounds

well im biased-i hunt bear with hounds- i consider any hunting with dogs interesting at least and bear hunting with hounds is as exciting as it gets at times- no big deal to shoot a bear out of a tree most the time--many hours of work have gone into those hounds that have treed that bear-hunter has to do their part when the time comes- it may seem easy sometimes-if u have been bear hunting with hounds alot u wont think its easy- ive lugged bait before - helped set up stands- hard work and not as easy as antis make it sound-- its like most any hunting- pulling the trigger is a split second part any hunt-- bait- hounds -or any kind of hunting-- - well its too early to be sure but i think will be a bear season in maine next year- what every hunter has got to remember is same people who want to take my bear hounds want to take away your bait hunting- they are after the easiest targets first- their goal is stop all hunting- all hunters need to stick together and support the other guys sport- u notice in maine it was baiting and hounds that would have been gone -antis really play this up as non ethical way of hunting-- in the past this has worked for them-- other hunters are starting to catch on to antis methods- they take it away bit by bit- pick on smallest groups first- by the way deh5868-- nice bear-- thays a real good bear for maine-- pete

the only way i'd hunt bear is with hounds, mabe it is because of the tradition of it runs deep in this part of the country. it's a real aderanline rush and a real gradifying thing when dogs you've raised and trained are there when the trigger is pulled.

Thank you very much Big smile I dont agree with hunting with dogs BUT I dont condem anyones hunting methods. Im just glad that the Anti's didnt win!! Its the hunter that keeps the animal population under control. Dont they realize without the hunter the animals would be so over populated that they would end up starving anyway?
