Upcoming Application Deadline for Washington Cougar Hunt
Somebody help me understand this....
Cougar hunting with the use of dogs is being encouraged in a few of these management units. Goal of these efforts is to help reduce the amount of cougar in the area.
Cougar hunting without the use of dogs (hillbillies in pickup trucks...like me) is not allowed to hunt cougar in these GMU's until later in the year. Goal of this effort is to increase the amount of cougar in the area.
Is it just me, or should Game officials maybe consider opening up the cougar hunt in these units to an all year type hunt, and open it to hillbillies in pickup trucks, in order to best achieve a reduction in cougar numbers in the region.
Or, is it all about the money? Cancel the hunt for all. Allow cougar numbers to increase, who cares about the deer...Open it up only to the guys who are willing to pay the extra fees to apply for a chance at the hunt?
This tip is for anyone who does or does not use a rangefinder while bowhunting, here is a simple and easy way to judge the distance to your game. Whether you’re in a tree or on the ground you can use this method at any time. Marking the distance before a hunt from your stand is a helpful way to determine the distance.
