Unit/ Area 20 CO Bull elk Archery...access?

I live here in unit 20 and have taken several cows over the years on private land tags in late season, but I finally have drawn an archery tag for Bull elk.  I was wondering if anyone on here has, or knows of anyone that would be open to access their property to archery hunt this season.  I would be open to doing work (I am a professional remodeler/construction) or a reasonable trespass fee or willing to share meat.  Also, any info of public land elk hunting would be appreciated.  Thanks!

I too have noticed that the responses can be bit like hunting in that it can be hit or miss sometimes, and you are not always sure why the difference.

I wish I could help you out, but the only bulls I've seen in Unit 20 were yard ornaments, golf hazards, or Rocky Mountain National Park pets, so not any hunting options there.  I have been thinking about trying Unit 20, and I found several older posts on this site about hunting unit 20, and even a few that mention specific areas.  Also, if you don't get more responses and don't find the information you were hoping for in old posts, you might check out the Honey Hole recommendations on exbio's website westernhuntingdata.com.

Good luck getting more responses, and more importantly, good luck with your hunt!

I hear ya.  Maybe it's fear

I hear ya.  Maybe it's fear of "newbies".  I registered in '08, but just recently looked at this site again.  Looking at as much data I can because of this great tag I drew.  I have ventured in a lot of National Forest around here over the years, but not really Indian Peaks Wilderness, so I am going to start looking into that area.  Most of the National Forest access here is extremely rough and the roads are rougher.  Roads aren't maintained at all.

The problem that I see is that you are asking about a specific location for your hunt.  So if no one has hunter there or has any information then why should they reply weather you are a new, old, or a inbetween member?  I could tell you all kinds of good places to go look for elk but it wouldn't be within 100 miles of where you want to hunt.
