Unit 9 Bull Muzzleloader AZ

HI, I am knew to this, but looks like a cool site! MY wife pulled a Bull tag for muzzleloader in Unit 9 in Arizona.  Don't know if alot of people has hunted this unit or not. We have never hunted this unit 9. The bulls will be in the rut, we were thinking about hunting over water. is this a good idea? Or should we call and stalk, the only thing is my wife might be pregnant at the time of the hunt. Does anyone have ideas? Any feed back would be great!

unit 9

My nephew lives in Casa Grande, AZ, he loves unit 9, you should have a great time, if it is dry, hunting water is very productive, he had a archery tag last year, and shot a 6 x 6 that scored 356" over water.

Hunting near water can be

Hunting near water can be great if it's hot and you hit the rut just right because those bulls hit water any time of the day then.  If it's not you might have to call and do what we call "run& gun", whcih can be very exciting.  Play it by ear and go with the flow when you get there and see what the conditions are, especially IF the Mrs. is preggers, LOL!!  I'll be out in unit 6A from  9/9/-9/22 helping my Wyoming buddy on his bull elk bow hunt that he drew a tag for.  It will be our first AZ elk hunt and we are really looking forward to it as from all indications it's a great hunt.  Also, welcome to the site.  I've only been on here a few months and it's a good one.
