Brett welcome to BGH! Yes Unit 62 has always had some great deer and I have seen some great bucks in the past couple of years. Is a deer worth 1500 dollars "?" not to me, but then again I live here and can usually draw a tag every other year. I have been in that unit all of my life and have seen many changes. The deer have definitely gotten smarter and the big boys much harder to find especially during season and remember all those OTC elk hunters are going to be hunting right along with you. But in Colorado that is kind of how it goes.

When hunting muledeer I try to find out of the way places where people are not going to be looking for elk (some units that is very hard to do). Also more than likely you will be looking at every 2-3 years on drawing that tag.

Good luck and good hunting!

Most all of the deer are migratory but during 1st rifle season the deer were already on the move. I don't feel it is so much the weather up there as the amount of pressure from hunters. There are some resident deer in the low country but defenitely far and few between.
