Unit 40 Colorado Archery Tag

Well I'm new here on this site. Been reading it for several years but been a member of other sites figured it was time to join up and glean some knowledge from you guys. Anyone that don't think they can learn probably never will. Not exactly a novice at elk hunting but neither do I have the years of knowledge some of you guys do. Been hunting elk in Co. For the past 7 years public land DIY hunts. Killed 6 bulls and one cow no bragging there just hunt hard and have been fortunate to have the time to spend that helps you be successful. First bull with a rifle and all the others with my bow. Gotta love it!! Enough about that I have drawn a unit 40 elk tag gonna be there the last 2 weeks of the season had some buddies that I hunt with every year draw it last year and did real well. 2 killed real nice bulls but they where there the first 2 weeks of archery and stayed pretty well on the NF I am interested in some hard to get to places where a guy might stumble on a MONSTER!!! Any help would be highly appreciated. I have seen a guy on here frequently from Fruita, co would love to chat with him!! Thanks, Y'all

Revawl,

I have seen your post over on the elkcamp.com forum for the last several days and I do not think that Bill Custer (CrazyElkHunter on here) has been on that sight for some time.

I would love to see the pics of your buddies bulls. Send me a PM or email me and we can talk.

Quinton

Unit 40 last yr

Hey man I am sorry this is so longgggggg overdue but wanted to drop you a line and say thanks for all the info you supplied on 40 last year. Me and my buddy both killed nice bulls in Lost Horse Basin. Not exactly as big as I was hoping but the hunt was awesome put eyes on 36 different bulls and my buddy said we heard 3,000 bugles I'm not sure about that part cause I was not counting. Lol Your info was spot on and much appreciated. Don't know how I could ever return the favor but would sure do it if I could. Thanks again.
