My son in law and his dad were there the last weekend of feb Barbary sheep hunting, but he didn't see a sheep or a deer.

Not sure about the brokeoffs

Not sure about the brokeoffs but a buddy saw several 28" and wider deer up above sitting bull falls where he got his barbery sheep.

Haven't seen lots of deer in

Haven't seen lots of deer in the Brokeoffs. I'm sure they're out there. We saw plenty of deer up in the Guads this past season.  Thumbs up

Brokeoffs ?

I've been kicking rocks in this area since 1970 or 1971 and have never heard the word "Brokeoffs" used. Where are/what are the Brokeoffs? Confused

The Brokeoffs are the smaller

The Brokeoffs are the smaller mountain range west of the Guadalupes between Dell City, TX and Queen, NM. Hope this map helps.

New to the website

Hi all.  I'm new to the website.  I've got a muzzleloader tag for Unit 30 for this year.  I used to hunt that area when I was younger with my uncle, but that was 10 years ago.  My uncle died earlier this year, so I don't have my trusty "guide".  I'm hoping to get some help on a decent place to go to get a legal deer.  I'll be staying in Artesia where my folks live.  I'm thinking of trying either the Marathon area or south of Hope.  I'll be taking my 5 year old son with me, so I won't have the option of walking for miles.  Any help/insight anyone can give me will be greatly appreciated.  Sorry to write a novel.

New to unit 30

Our group will be hunting unit 30 for the first time. We've never been in or around that area and was hoping to get some advice on good places to camp out and hunt. Was hoping to get some advice from some of you hunter's who frequent that area.

We'll be heading out to scout the area tomorrow, so if someone can chime in with some info by then I would really appreciate it.
