mtcop71, How did your son do on his hunt? How did your NM hunts go this year for you?

Not good, frst morning walked down the trail and there was a cow 300 yds away, got my son a litlle closer and here comes a truck and scares it away. That is what it was like the whle time. No Elk and tons of hunters driving around doing the 60 mph stalk. Crazy, I am not used to hunting like that. Maybe Next year. I still have my bow hunt in Jan for Deer. Looking forward to hunt Alaska again next year. My wife and I are talking about buyikng land in southern Col this year, so maybe I can hunt that as well.

MtCop, Sorry to hear about the road hunters messing things up for you and your son. You're right and it is tough to get away from other hunters in the lower 48. On our Colorado deer hunt we were in a long ways and still we kept seeing people & horses. Even in the wilderness areas we hunted, I was impressed with how far guys were in on foot. We had a lot of Utah camps by us and those boys work. They could teach us Colorado boys a few things.....
